About the Project
As a sister campus to Dubai British School Jumeira, Dubai British School Mira establishes a refined, mature identity on a prominent corner plot. Köda designed a connected, sprawling campus ecosystem that departs from narrow corridors and static layouts. Spanning generous grounds, the facility offers top-tier academic and athletic amenities while maintaining a calm, sophisticated aesthetic tailored to its growing community.

Design Approach
Taking advantage of its large corner plot, the campus layout separates the Foundation Stage into a standalone structure linked to primary play zones. Incorporating faculty feedback, classrooms replace rigid built-in features with modular elements for flexible teaching. The building centers on a triple-height lobby with an inverted tree installation and sculptural staircase. Warm timber accents flow from outdoor play structures into indoor breakout areas, capturing abundant natural light. Moving away from the vibrant textures of its sister campus, DBS Mira uses a muted, natural palette to foster a focused, biophilic learning environment visible to the surrounding community.
The project integrates indoor and outdoor learning, encouraging interaction.
