About the Project
Köda stepped in as lead design consultant to redesign Ambassador International Academy in Al Barsha, fitting a premium K-12 IB campus onto a compact 28,000 sqm plot. Completed within five months, the master plan accommodates nearly 100 classrooms alongside extensive academic, sports, and parking facilities. The design prioritizes community wellness, spatial efficiency, and seamless age-group separation within a unified, modern facility.

Design Approach
Köda resolved a steep four-meter site incline by adding a basement level beneath the ground-floor football pitch, securing fully shaded parking and eliminating drop-off traffic congestion. Organized in a clean U-shaped footprint, a 100-meter central building houses administrative facilities, an auditorium, a canteen, and a two-story library. Dedicated classroom wings branch off strategically: early years students occupy the right wing with a private entrance, while primary and secondary cohorts share the left wing across separate levels. A dramatic triple-height lobby greets visitors, using a grand sculptural staircase to guide public traffic away from private learning corridors.
The project integrates indoor and outdoor learning, encouraging interaction.
