About the Project
We are appointed by Cognita to lead the design and renovation of one of Dubai’s most prestigious educational institutions. Repton, the first major British school brand to establish a presence in the region, sits on a sprawling 120,000 sqm campus—making it one of the largest school campuses in the Middle East. Despite its early promise, much of the original infrastructure remained underutilized or incomplete. Following Cognita’s acquisition of the campus, we were brought on board to unlock its full potential.

Key Highlights
A dynamic, inviting lobby honoring the school’s heritage, for a memorable first impression
Enhanced shared spaces for the youngest students to foster early educational engagement.
Purpose-built exam spaces designed to support focus, comfort and student wellbeing.
Well-equipped art spaces encouraging creativity, experimentation, and multidisciplinary learning.
Appointed as Lead Design Consultants, overseeing the entire process from feasibility study and architectural redesign to interior design and FF&E specification

Design Approach
Our team undertook a comprehensive evaluation of the 18-year-old site, benchmarking it against leading schools in its tier and assessing all built assets against current academic and operational needs. As Lead Design Consultants, we were responsible for the full feasibility study, architectural redesign, interiors, and FF&E—reimagining the Repton campus to meet the highest standards of contemporary British education in a UAE context.

Outcome & Impact
The exisiting building structure was a long-standing, unfinished structure that was transformed into a fully realised facility by resolving complex structural, acoustic, and regulatory challenges. 450-Year old heritage cues were reinterpreted in a contemporary language, embedding its legacy into a modern Middle Eastern context. A cohesive design language established a strong sense of place, elevating the campus from fragmented spaces to a recognisable and aspirational landmark. A previously outdated environment becomes a place where vision and execution aligned to deliver a state-of-the-art cultural and educational hub.
