About the Project
premier K-12 provider with a 25-school legacy across Saudi Arabia’s West Coast. This project represents the client’s first standalone, purpose-built ECE facility. Koda was appointed to transition the brand’s traditional prestige into a high-performance, neuro-architectural environment. The design prioritizes spatial fluidity, indoor-outdoor synergy, and the “Building as a Third Teacher” philosophy.

Design Approach
The core architectural challenge was to move away from the “cells and bells” corridor model toward a decentralized learning landscape. Koda implemented a radial-inspired floor plan that minimizes dead-end circulation and maximizes “Passive Supervision” through transparent sightlines. Rather than traditional hallways, the design utilizes wide, multi-functional thoroughfares. These zones are engineered as secondary learning environments, featuring integrated acoustic pods, tactile wall surfaces, and tiered seating for spontaneous peer-to-peer interaction The spatial layout supports the Montessori “Prepared Environment” by providing low-level accessibility to all resources. Classroom footprints are expanded to include “wet” and “dry” zones, allowing for a seamless transition between sensory play and structured instruction.
